Feda Oweis is the owner and head chef for Beyond the Border, San Francisco Catering Company. The company name is often referred to as BTB(SF) for short. Feda founded BTB in 2013, with the intention to bring authentic family style dishes, with a modern twist to the masses, via food trucks! Having graduated from San Francisco’s Culinary Academy, Feda’s passion for cooking landed him a position in the hospitality industry in San Diego. After a couple years of experience in the industry, he decided to create his own brand,fusing together his Latin American roots and bringing it all over his home town of San Francisco.
When asked to describe himself, and his role with BTBSF, Feda proclaimed, “I’m the head chef, which is like the head coach. I’m hands on with everything to make sure each ingredient comes to life on your taste buds, urging you to share, and come back for more!”
He’s more than just the secret sauce holder, he’s the driving force behind believing his company will bring joy to others through, culture, community and co-midá!
Outside of work Feda is a pretty laid back guy, who’s down to try new things, and rise up to the occasional challenge. Family is important to Feda, as he has 3 brothers who have helped with BTB on occasion; and an adorable little daughter whom he adores immensely! Teaching his daughter the value of empathy and compassion, Feda often volunteers to bring his truck(s) to help in areas of need such as the Napa Fires in Fall 2018; or dropping off post event left overs to homeless shelters around the city. On his days off, Feda enjoys sport events, weekend getaways, and nice cold beers! Keeping a sense of humor, especially when dealing with ambiguity, Feda has proven to be a successful entrepreneur, and liking to expand in the next few years... keep a look out for what’s to come! He curates each menu to compliment the occasion, or event being hosted,
